This Privacy Notice explains how Cramoo ("Cramoo", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use our AI revision service. Cramoo is the data controller for the personal data described here.
1. Personal data we collect
- Account data: name, email address, password (stored hashed), and login provider details (e.g. Google).
- Content you upload: notes, photos, textbook pages, decks, flashcards, and other study material you provide.
- Usage and telemetry: pages viewed, features used, study activity, error and performance logs.
- Device and connection data: IP address, browser, operating system, device identifiers.
- Support messages: information you send us when contacting support.
- Billing metadata: subscription status, plan, and payment identifiers (payment card details are collected and stored by our payment provider, not by us).
2. How we use your data
- Create and manage your account and provide the service (contract);
- Generate AI flashcards and study features from your uploads (contract);
- Keep the service secure and prevent fraud or abuse (legitimate interests);
- Improve the product, fix bugs, and understand how features are used (legitimate interests);
- Respond to support requests (contract / legitimate interests);
- Send transactional emails such as sign-up confirmation, billing, and important updates (contract / legal obligation);
- Send marketing emails where you have opted in (consent);
- Comply with legal obligations (legal obligation).
3. Who we share data with
- Service providers / subprocessors: hosting, database, AI model providers, email delivery, analytics, and error monitoring tools that help us run the service.
- Payment provider (Merchant of Record): Paddle.com Market Limited acts as our Merchant of Record and handles checkout, subscription management, payments, invoicing, and tax compliance.
- Professional advisers: legal, accounting, and insurance advisers where necessary.
- Authorities: where required by law or to protect our rights.
We do not sell your personal data.
4. International transfers
Some of our subprocessors are located outside the UK/EEA. When personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK/EU Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.
5. Data retention
We keep personal data only for as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations. Account and content data is kept while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, subject to backups and legal retention requirements (e.g. tax records).
6. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Ask us to correct inaccurate data;
- Ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten");
- Restrict or object to certain processing;
- Receive a copy of your data in a portable format;
- Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent);
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO).

7. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and secure hosting. No system is 100% secure, but we work continuously to protect your information.
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to keep the service working, and limited analytics cookies to understand how the product is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
9. Children
Cramoo is designed for students, including those under 18 using it with parental or school permission. We do not knowingly collect data from children in a way that is not permitted by local law. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data without appropriate consent, please contact us.
10. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in-product or by email.
